1 Timothy
Chapter 2
- 1
I urge therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made for all men;

for kings, and for all in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all piety and worthy behavior.
- 3
This is good and agreeable in the sight of God our Savior,
- 4
who wishes all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
- 5
For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, himself man, Christ Jesus,
- 6
who gave himself a ransom for all, bearing witness in his own time.
- 7
To this I have been appointed a preacher and an apostles (I tell the truth, I do not lie), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. Women in Public Assemblies

I wish, then, that the men pray everywhere, lifting up pure hands, without wrath and contention.

In like manner I wish women to be decently dressed, adorning themselves with modesty and dignity, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothing,
- 10
but with good works such as become women professing godliness.
- 11
Let a woman learn in silence with all submission.
- 12
For I do not allow a woman to teach, or to exercise authority over men; but she is to keep quiet.
- 13
For Adam was formed first, then Eve.
- 14
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and was in sin.
- 15
Yet women will be saved by childbearing, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with modesty.
