Matt. 1, 5 f refers to the Book of Matthew, chapter 1, verse 5 and the following verse, i.e., verses 5 and 6.
Matt. 1, 5 ff refers to the Book of Matthew, chapter 1, verse 5 and at least the following two verses, i.e., verses 5, 6 and 7.
Matt. 1, 5.10 refers to the Book of Matthew, chapter 1, verse 5 and verse 10.
